Vikram’s Super hero movie Kanthaswamy release date has now been confirmed officially by Producer Kalaipuli S.Thanu. Thanu said that the movie will hit theaters worldwide on August 15thwith more than 900 prints. Thanu was very busy showing the movie trailer new trailers and some songs to the distributors at his home theatre.

In Chennai city alone, the distributor Abirami Ramanathan has booked 21 screens, making it the widest ever release in the city. Mayajaal is planning to run a whopping 45 shows a day and in Chennai city alone, Kanthaswamy will be screened in 64 shows excluding Mayajaal. The other theatres include Sathyam,Devi Complex, Melody, Inox, Abhirami, Kamala, Udyam, iDreams and Maharani.

kanthaswamy directed by Susi Ganeasan, produced by Kalaipuli.S Thanu is one of the much awaited Kollywood film of 2009. Vikram acts in the lead role, whilst Shriya Saran, Krishna, Ashish Vidyarthi, Indrajith Sukumaran, Prabhu Ganesan and Vivek also play important roles in the film. The film’s music has been score by Devi Sri Prasad. The film is also to be released as Mallana in Telugu.

The producers of the film are planning to release the film in five languages Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Italian and Spanish. kanthaswamy’s chennai theatrical rights has been purchased by Abirami Ramanathan for a whopping cost of 4.01 crores and Malayalam rights of the movie has been sold for 2 crores.
