Following the grand success of “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’, Gautham Menon is now busy penning the script for his next untitled film, starring Ajith Kumar in the lead role. This untitled film will be produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions, who earlier acquired Gautham’s “Vaaranam Aayiram’.
According to the sources, this film seems to be tentatively titled as “Thupariyum Anand’ (Detective Anand) as Ajith Kumar dons the role of a detective officer, who unravels the mystery behind a series of murders in London. As of now, Ajith Kumar is busy preparing himself for the Formula 2 car racing that is slated to commence in the next month. Since the tournament will get over only in September, Gautham and Ajith have decided to start shooting from November. With around 24 films being released within last 50 days, the distributors are completely perplexed in releasing their upcoming films. Earlier, Lingusamy’s “Paiyya’ was supposed to hit screens on February 12 along with Gowtham’s “Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya’. But unfortunately, the complete scheduling was changed as Sun Pictures released “Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai’ on that Friday.
Apparently, Ajith Kumar starrer “ASAL’ was preponed to February 5 merely because of this sudden change. Since, Venkat Prabhu’s “Goa’, Shiva starrer “Thamizh Padam’, “TVP’ and “ASAL’ are considerably doing moderate business at box office, theatre owners have decided not to release any films tomorrow (Feb 19). Avan Ivan is upcoming tamil movie written and directed by Bala. The movie stars Arya, Vishal and newcomer Janani Iyer in the lead roles. Avan Invan music is scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja, cinematography by Arthur A. Wilson and editing by A. Sreekar Prasad. The film, produced by Kalpathi S. An ethical news channel head, Vijay Harshvardhan Malik (Amitabh Bachchan) is facing TRP issues. Not willing to compromise with his principals while running his channel India 24X7, he is forever beaten by a rival channel Headlines 24 run by his one time protégé Amrish Kakkar (Mohnish Behl). Cub reporter Purab Shastri (Ritesh) idolizes Malik and is the new recruit in India 24X7. Malik’s son Jai (Sudeep) is a complete opposite of his father and wants to run the news channel like a business. Jai is frustrated and neck deep in debt with Headlines 24 consistently robbing their new show ideas. Malik’s son in law business magnet Navin Shankhaliya lures Jai into a dangerous plot hatched by wily politician Mohan Pandey (Rawal). Malik trusting his son, unknowingly becomes a part of this treacherous game. Pandey succeeds in toppling the government and India 24X7 becomes the no.1 channel.
