As per trade sources Sun Pictures has acquired the marketing rights of Surya’s much expected movie Singam. Singam directed by Hari features Surya and Anushka in lead roles. Surya plays the role of Cop for 2nd time after his last blockbuster movie Kaakha Kaakha.
Singam is being produced by Studio Green Productions Gnanavel Raja, uncle of Surya. Prakash Raj does the villian role in the movie and Vivek does the comedian role. Devi Sri Prasad has scored music for the film.

The latest buzz around Kollywood is that Ilayathalapathy Vijay has signed up with Gemini Film Circuit to do the Tamil remake of Aamir Khan’s Raju Hirani directed blockbuster 3 Idiots.
Vijay has agreed to do the film and is on the look out for a director to take over the project. As per sources Gemini Film Circuit has signed up Cameraman Ratnavelu for the project.
The directors who are in the race to remake 3 idiots with Vijay are Vishnuvardhan, Dharani etc. In the remake Vijay will play Rancho, the character made memorable by Aamir, while Prakash Raj is likely to do Bomman Irani’s role as Virus.
If this project kick starts soon it will surely be a milestone film for Vijay in his carrier.

Following the grand success of “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’, Gautham Menon is now busy penning the script for his next untitled film, starring Ajith Kumar in the lead role. This untitled film will be produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions, who earlier acquired Gautham’s “Vaaranam Aayiram’.
According to the sources, this film seems to be tentatively titled as “Thupariyum Anand’ (Detective Anand) as Ajith Kumar dons the role of a detective officer, who unravels the mystery behind a series of murders in London. As of now, Ajith Kumar is busy preparing himself for the Formula 2 car racing that is slated to commence in the next month. Since the tournament will get over only in September, Gautham and Ajith have decided to start shooting from November. After a vigorous hunt for actresses, A. R. Murugadoss has finally zeroed on Kamal Haasan’s elder daughter Shruti Haasan for his upcoming film. The film is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies and has Surya playing the lead role.
Though according to grapevine, earlier Murugadoss was keen on roping Asin as the female lead but finally took the decision to cast Shruti with Surya. The latest buzz around Kollywood is that Simbhu has walked out of K.V. Anand’s “Ko’, he’s reported to have been completely bowled over by the offer of Mani Ratnam. It seems that the veteran filmmaker has approached Silambarasan to perform the lead role in his next project slated to take off by November. Probably, it is expected to be a bilingual film featuring a hot and happening actor of B-town in lead role for the Hindi version.
