Following the grand success of “Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa’, Gautham Menon is now busy penning the script for his next untitled film, starring Ajith Kumar in the lead role. This untitled film will be produced by Dayanidhi Azhagiri of Cloud Nine Productions, who earlier acquired Gautham’s “Vaaranam Aayiram’.
According to the sources, this film seems to be tentatively titled as “Thupariyum Anand’ (Detective Anand) as Ajith Kumar dons the role of a detective officer, who unravels the mystery behind a series of murders in London. As of now, Ajith Kumar is busy preparing himself for the Formula 2 car racing that is slated to commence in the next month. Since the tournament will get over only in September, Gautham and Ajith have decided to start shooting from November. After a vigorous hunt for actresses, A. R. Murugadoss has finally zeroed on Kamal Haasan’s elder daughter Shruti Haasan for his upcoming film. The film is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies and has Surya playing the lead role.
Though according to grapevine, earlier Murugadoss was keen on roping Asin as the female lead but finally took the decision to cast Shruti with Surya. The latest buzz around Kollywood is that Simbhu has walked out of K.V. Anand’s “Ko’, he’s reported to have been completely bowled over by the offer of Mani Ratnam. It seems that the veteran filmmaker has approached Silambarasan to perform the lead role in his next project slated to take off by November. Probably, it is expected to be a bilingual film featuring a hot and happening actor of B-town in lead role for the Hindi version. As per latest Reports from various media sources, Gautham Menon is going to direct Ultimate Star Ajith’s 50th movie which will be produced by Dayanidhi Azhagari. who is the son of Union Minister M.K Azhagiri.
Gautham Menon feels so lucky over cop stories laced with “thrill’ moments that even though his melodramas– “Minnale’, “Vaaranam Aayiram’ have won him laurels, the filmmaker is adhering to tales on cops. Well it indeed is true that he has splendidly tasted success in this genre with “Kaakha Kaakha’ and “Vetaiyaadu Vilayaadu’ turning out to be box-office hits.

Ajith’s and Sivaji Productions Asal which was scheduled for release on January, has now been pushed to the February month. As per sources the movie will hit the screens worldwide on February 12th.
Sources close to the development say that Sivaji Productions feel that Aasal, should release big with as many prints as possible, as the film has the potential to be the biggest opener of the year.
